The Writing Process
The writing process is a series of tasks that is fulfilled when a writer comes up with ideas and put them together into a piece of writing. Since the process is recursive, the writer might discover that they will need to go back and examine and improve the steps taken at any point in the process.
The stages of the writing process are:
1. Prewriting - this stage is called the getting to write stage. This is where a topic is chosen, the purpose for writing the piece is considered.
2. Drafting - in this stage a rough draft is written and the ideas are gathered and organized.
3. Revising - this stage involves examining sentences for clarity and connection with the viewpoints.
4. Editing - in this stage, the final pieces are put together focusing mainly on sentence structure, word choice, grammar, and spelling.
5. Publishing - at this final stage the writer publish their writing and shares it with their audience.
How can the writing process assist teachers?
The writing process can assist teachers by providing a
structured approach to teaching writing skills. It helps teachers guide
students through the different stages of writing, such as brainstorming,
drafting, revising, and editing. By following the writing process, teachers can
help students develop their ideas, organize their thoughts and improve their
writing skills. It also allows teachers to provide feedback and support to
students throughout the writing journey.

However, I was unable to see the relationship between the 6+1 traits of writing and the writing process. The only indication of this was the image accompanied in the beginning of this post. If you could expound on the traits and how it relates to one another it would be greatly appreciated and make this an even better post.
